Ingredients
  

  • 10 fresh mint leaves plus a sprig for garnish
  • ½ lime cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 6 ounces club soda or to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass.
  2. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice.
  3. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, then muddle again to combine and dissolve the sugar slightly.
  4. Fill the glass nearly to the top with ice cubes.
  5. Pour in the white rum and top with club soda.
  6. Stir well to combine, taste, and adjust sweetness if desired.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of mint and the remaining lime wedge. Serve immediately.
